Look who's all grown up!
Our Rouen Ducks are now 3 1/2 months old and they look like mature ducks. The drakes have glorious green heads with white bands, and the hens are stunning with their blue tipped wings.
It wasn't that long ago that they arrived on our farm as wee ducklings.

They grew quickly and by 1 month of age they had entered the ugly duckling stage, although they still looked cute to us!
By September they were quickly catching up in size to Lana who has been an ever vigilant guardian to her flock.
And now today they are as big if not bigger than she is, and their plumage has come in with their thick downy feathers as they brace for the arrival of winter.
