Peep, peep!
More new additions to the farm. 4 lovely little chicks were hatched on August 10th. Baby, hatched here last July, is proving herself to be a wonderful mom to her chicks.
New Additions - Rouen Ducks
On August 1 we accepted some new birds to our farm, a female Rouen Duck and her 6 ducklings. They needed to find a home right away and a friend of ours thought of us, and here they are.....
Lana and her ducklings have moved into the secure enclosure off our chicken coop and are spending their days swimming about in the kiddie pool.
We will allow them to free range in the fall once the wee ones have matured and we are sure they are feeling comfortable and secure on our farm to ensure they do not wander off.

The ducklings were hatched on July 26, 2012.....
Good News!
Baby has been found!
She wasn't taken by the fox after all, she was broody and hunkered down in the hay loft of the horse barn. We still can't get her to stay in the temporary enclosure, but at least we know she is safe for now.
